I have always had fine hair. I have a lot of it and it has always been easy to tangle. It has only been as I have aged into my 40's that this great curly, style-free hair has appeared.
As a child, I must admit that I was not the best maintainer of my hair. It would become a tangled mess and I can recount many times having to sit and endure the painful brushing of my rats nest! I used to think my aunt was mean because the summer she came to visit, she would make me eat vegetable soup and sit while she combed out my hair. Looking back, it is funny to see how a kid's mind works.
So back to the topic of this blog...summer hair...Abby has inherited my hair, lovely, and I must admit her habits of keeping it untangled have been far from consistent. Add in the salty air and the ever-present wind and you have a recipe for tangled stew!
Enter remedy 101...THE FRENCH BRAID!
Kelly was nice enough to offer her services after a 15 minute tear-filled brushing session. The result: a super cute tangle-free hair-do. Here are the pictures to prove it. So for one beach-filled summer afternoon, my child had an up-do that kept the knots out of her hair! YAY!
Now all I need to do is learn how to french braid!

As I look at my last post, I realize that my hope to post more did not come to fruition. So with Abby's 4th grade school year over and her last year of elementary school right around the corner, I thought the summer vacation might be a good time to revisit my lonely blog.So here are a few photos from the past 6 months. I lost my grandmother(Busha) on my dad's side in March and we made the trip out to California to honor her memory and try to make some sweet memories with my dad's family.
Abby played soccer and lacrosse this spring, She spent a lot of her time on the field by running back and forth between practices and games. We had a great year as a Boone Bulldog and an Anton Alien. Above are a few photos from the school year including the spring dance in which Abby received her first kiss on the cheek from Camden. They seemed far apart, but what a sweet photo. As the days get longer, I hope to find more time to revisit.
