Happy 11-11-11!! aka. Toby's Birthday..and a late Happy Birthday to Charlie!

This wonderful day has been set aside to honor the people who make the ultimate sacrifice. These people keep us safe and allow us to live in a great place!

Today is also the day we decided to make Toby's, our latest addition to the Glazener family, birthday. We are not sure of his exact happy day, as he lived in a less that wonderful home, but since we made Charlie's Birthday on 10-10 ( The day he became a Glazener),  we went with the obvious and easy to remember day!

Here are a few pictures of that sweet puppy face since he came to live with us!

Oh and Happy Birthday Charlie!! A little late!

HEY!! That's not fair, giving a guy a shot down there!

So let me start by saying that I have been revisiting my favorite Saturday morning commercials! Yes, back in the day, there were not that many commericals and you actually had to watch cartoons on Saturday morning if you were going to see them for the whole week. Eeek! Imagine the horror!
I an speaking of School House Rock. I have them on video Cassette and  I wanted to show these to Abby and the kids at the school I am teaching, but they really don't use Video cassettes anymore! I mean really, why not? So I got the DVD and Abby and I have been watching them nonstop. I love that she seems just as excited as I am.
Okay, there really is a point somewhere and I am just about to get to itm maybe. Actually there are 2 points. The kids at my school really do not know a lot about grammar or history and I thought the School House Rock would be a good way to remember simple things like: conjunctions, adjectices, The Preamble....you get my drift. The second point is today, I could have used a couple of interjections at the Doctor's office. I had a nodule on my Thyroid biopsied and when they stuck that very SMALL needle in my throat. I wanted to say, HEY! OUCH! YIKES! but since I was told not to breathe, swallow, talk or make any movement, I just sat there.
So in honor of what i wanted to say, I thought I would give you the link the the interjections song and let you stroll down memory lane!

Interjections

A lot of coughing, a little running and some life thrown in there for good measure!

Here are the Vienna girls, after their awesome performance at the Ramblin Rose! Abby and her 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Anton!

Good times before the cough set in!
Glazener's being silly!

So, looking back, my last post was in July! Yeah, that is about right! I was having a great summer! Lots of beach time, lots of fun and summer sun and then vacation HIT!
Above is a picture when everything was still good and next thing you know, I venture on a 9 week trip of coughing, coughing and crazy rib pain.
There are varying thoughts on what I actually had. From whooping cough, to walking pnemonia , to an infection in my lungs. Whatever it was that decided to inhabit my being, it was not fun. Repeated visits to the doctor, inhalers, steriods, antibiotics...you name it, I took it! And gladly. I am usually not a sick person, but this little infection decided to stick around for a while. Maybe it was my charming personality, or my tenacity, but I almost decided to give it a name and make it an official Glazener. Instead, I found out I had a family of goiters living in my throat, so I decided to name them instead!! Fun times!
With all of that said, I hope to update my posts a little more frequently! I also hope I can figure out to put photos where I want them to be! Sorry for the few at the top. They were supposed to be at the bottom, but no!! So with that, I say, Toodles!
